Winter Veg and Venison Pasty
Traditionally pasties are made with beef, but when in Aotearoa I choose to use the more tender, flavoursome and affordable cuts of venison. And of course to save time and to get the perfect pastry Heritage Bakers Savoury Short Pastry is just perfect!
Ham, Cheese and Leek Pithivier (Posh Pie)
Pithivier or ‘posh pie’ as i like to call it. Is simply a decadent pie. This pie is layered between sheets of Heritage Bakers flaky puff pastry with sweet, buttery leeks, shavings of ham, and finished with gooey mozzarella.
It could easily be served for a luncheon, dinner or transported with you for a picnic. Delicious enjoyed on its own or you could dress it up with a crisp leafy garden salad.
Kransky In Blankets
These tasty little morsels are great for a party or a fun snack.
Kransky sausages with their cheesy filling make the perfect party food.
These are super easy and fast to make especially when using sheets of ready rolled Heritage Bakers flaky puff pastry.
Tomato and Cheese Little Tarts
Pastry and anything tastes delicious … right? Adding fresh juicy tomatoes and gooey cheese makes it taste even better. These work fantastic as a little snack, or as a cute little pre dinner nibble. Delicious addition to the lunch box as well..
Quick Courgette and Ricotta Tart
Making a tart like this requires very little planning, especially when you can grab a sheet of Heritage Bakers flaky puff pastry.
Leftover Quiche
Using Heritage Bakers shortcrust pastry makes whipping up a quiche quick and easy. I also like that you can also use up leftovers. Ingredients like cooked potatoes, pumpkin, broccoli and greens. Leftover meats such as ham, cooked bacon and sausages are fantastic. Using up those crumbs of cheese left in your fridge also works wonders in a quiche..
Cheesy Beef Pinwheels
These are so good and so quick to make. I used minced beef but you can use any type of mince. To make these pinwheels extra fast, extra delicious and easy to prepare I used Heritage Bakers pre-rolled flaky puff pastry sheets.
Beef and Cheese Sausage Rolls
Who doesn't love a sausage roll? My mum always made sausage rolls on the weekend, which were great as we were always so busy with weekend sports. We could eat them hot or cold and also great to enjoy on the go. They are quick to prepare, especially when you have sheets of Heritage bakers ready rolled flaky puff pastry.
