Makes: 12–16 bites
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 12–15 minutes
Skill level: Easy
Ingredients
1 sheet Heritage Bakers Savoury Shortcrust Pastry, thawed
60 g goat’s cheese or feta, crumbled
2–3 Tbsp cranberry jelly or cranberry sauce
1 tsp finely chopped fresh rosemary
Cracked black pepper
1 egg, lightly beaten (for glaze)
Method
Preheat the oven to 190 °C (170 °C fan). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
Using a 6 cm round cutter, cut circles from the pastry and place on the tray.
Prick each piece lightly with a fork and chill for 10 minutes to prevent puffing.
Brush with beaten egg. Top each with a little goat’s cheese, a small spoonful of cranberry jelly, and a pinch of chopped rosemary. Season with cracked black pepper.
Bake: 12–15 minutes, or until golden and crisp.
Serve: Enjoy warm or at room temperature — ideal with a glass of bubbles to start the festive celebrations.
Make Ahead & Freeze
Make ahead: Assemble and chill up to 4 hours before baking.
To freeze unbaked: Freeze flat on a tray, then store in a container. Bake from frozen at 180 °C for 15–17 minutes until golden.
