Mini Crème Brûlée Tarts
These were such a hit with the family I couldn't make enough of them.
Baked custard mini tarts covered with a golden caramel encased in a shortcrust pastry shell. This is such a classic combination and one that never gets boring.
Nutella and Cream Cheese Tart
This combo is such a winner.
Crispy pastry, smothered with nutella and cream cheese, need i say more?
You can dress up this delicious easy tart with summer berries or a simple fruit compote to make a stunning dessert.

These salmon and leek vol-au-vents are comfort food with a fancy edge. Flaky puff pastry shells are loaded with creamy leeks and pieces of tender salmon, all wrapped in a rich, velvety sauce. They’re super satisfying, easy to pull together, and great for serving when you want something a bit special without too much fuss.
Puff Pastry Cinnamon Scrolls
Cinnamon scrolls are a classic way to kick off the day. Sweet, soft, and filled with warm spice, these scrolls come together quickly—perfect for a cozy breakfast or a last-minute treat.
Ham and Cheese Croissants
These ham and cheese pastry croissants are a quick, no-fuss version that you can whip up in minutes. They're perfect to keep in the freezer—just bake straight from frozen for an easy, satisfying lunch or snack anytime.
Mini Bacon and Egg Pastry Pies
These little savoury classics are a Kiwi favourite — simple, hearty, and endlessly satisfying. Made with flaky pastry, crispy bacon, and just-set eggs, they’re perfect for brunch, lunchboxes, or picnics. Best of all, they can be enjoyed warm or cold, and are easy to whip up with just a few pantry staples.
Golden, portable, and packed with flavour, these mini pies are the ultimate comfort food in bite-sized form.
Cheese, Bacon, Jalapeño Turnovers
One of my favourite combos—made even better when wrapped in golden, flaky Heritage puff pastry.
Cheese Sticks
Cheese sticks are a handy snack to keep around—they freeze well, so you can always have a batch ready to go. Serve them on their own, pair them with your favourite dip, or add some crudités for an easy, crowd-pleasing platter when guests drop by.
Quick Peachy Tart
Everyone needs these quick recipes where you can easily pull together a delicious and impressive sweet treat.
Simply toss some juicy peach slices with some sugar and spice, scatter over some Heritage Bakers flaky puff pastry and bake until caramelised and sticky. So good and so easy.
Winter Veg and Venison Pasty
Traditionally pasties are made with beef, but when in Aotearoa I choose to use the more tender, flavoursome and affordable cuts of venison. And of course to save time and to get the perfect pastry Heritage Bakers Savoury Short Pastry is just perfect!
Ham, Cheese and Leek Pithivier (Posh Pie)
Pithivier or ‘posh pie’ as i like to call it. Is simply a decadent pie. This pie is layered between sheets of Heritage Bakers flaky puff pastry with sweet, buttery leeks, shavings of ham, and finished with gooey mozzarella.
It could easily be served for a luncheon, dinner or transported with you for a picnic. Delicious enjoyed on its own or you could dress it up with a crisp leafy garden salad.
Feijoa Galette
This pie is simply delicious.
The juicy and aromatic feijoas partner perfectly with Heritage Bakers Sweet Short Pastry. Served straight from the oven with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. Dessert is served!
Kransky In Blankets
These tasty little morsels are great for a party or a fun snack.
Kransky sausages with their cheesy filling make the perfect party food.
These are super easy and fast to make especially when using sheets of ready rolled Heritage Bakers flaky puff pastry.
Blueberry Pie
I remember eating my first ever blueberry pie many years ago when travelling the states. Back then blueberries were rather scarce and I would certainly never have had enough to fill a pie. Thankfully times have changed and we are very fortunate now to have delicious, plump blueberries grown locally and in abundance.
This pie has a crisp, buttery crust which holds the juicy blueberry filling. It is delicious eaten straight from the oven with fresh cream. It is also one of life's great joys to have a slice the next day.
It’s just the perfect pie.
Tomato and Cheese Little Tarts
Pastry and anything tastes delicious … right? Adding fresh juicy tomatoes and gooey cheese makes it taste even better. These work fantastic as a little snack, or as a cute little pre dinner nibble. Delicious addition to the lunch box as well..
Summer Fruit Turnovers
When the summer fruit is ripe and juicy they can be easily turned into a quick and very delicious dessert or summer treat. To make these turnovers even more appealing and save you a lot of time you can simply use Heritage Bakers flaky puff pastry sheets.
Quick Courgette and Ricotta Tart
Making a tart like this requires very little planning, especially when you can grab a sheet of Heritage Bakers flaky puff pastry.
Leftover Quiche
Using Heritage Bakers shortcrust pastry makes whipping up a quiche quick and easy. I also like that you can also use up leftovers. Ingredients like cooked potatoes, pumpkin, broccoli and greens. Leftover meats such as ham, cooked bacon and sausages are fantastic. Using up those crumbs of cheese left in your fridge also works wonders in a quiche..
