Ham and Cheese Croissants

Makes 8

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets Heritage Bakers flaky puff pastry (thawed)

  • 2 Tbsp dijon mustard

  • 100g sliced ham

  • 8 cheese slices, cut in half lengthways

  • Cracked pepper, salt flakes

  • 1 egg, dash of water

Method

  1. Place a sheet of pastry onto your workbench.

  2. Cut into 4 even sized strips.

  3. Spread each strip with a little dijon mustard. Leaving about 1 cm border from one edge.

  4. Divide the ham to lightly cover each strip

  5. Place 2 pieces of cheese on each strip.

  6. Brush the border with a little egg wash. 

  7. Fold each strip over 3 times to create a neat parcel. 

  8. Brush the top with egg wash. Crack over a little pepper and sprinkle salt flakes.

  9. Bake until well risen and golden brown 20-25 minutes.
