Cheese, Bacon, Jalapeño Turnovers

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets Heritage bakers flaky puff pastry 

  • 80g cream cheese

  • 150g grated cheese

  • 20g jalapeño’s, roughly chopped

  • Freshly cracked black pepper

  • 4 rashers streaky bacon, cut in half

  • 1 egg, lightly beaten with a teaspoon of water

Method

  1. Preheat the oven 200C fan-bake (200C bake)

  2. Cut each pastry sheet into 4 even sized squares (8 total).

  3. Mix the cream cheese, grated cheese, jalapeños and black pepper.

  4. Divide the cheese mixture between the squares and spread on an angle from one corner to the other.

  5. Place the bacon over the cheese mixture.

  6. Brush the 2 exposed corners with the beaten egg. Fold the pastry onto one another and press to seal.

  7. Brush the top of the pastry with the egg.

  8. Place onto a tray with baking paper and bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the pastry is golden and the cheese has melted.
